Raspberries... Peak ripeness for raspberries is late spring, early summer. We are all familiar with red raspberries but there are also black and yellow varieties. These delicious berries are a great source of vitamin C, potassium, folate and fiber.

Dates...are incredibly delicious, in my opinion! They are natures candy. Madjool dates are one of the largest, softest and tasiest variety that are easy to find in US health food and whole food stores. A date fruit is the product of a date palm, a tree native to Northern Africa and the Middle East. One cup of pitted, chopped dates contains 3.6 grams of protein, potassium, calcium, vitamins A, B, B2, B6, C, E and K, Niacin and folate.

Cantaloupes ...are in peak harvest season during June, July and August. raw food canteloupeCantaloupe has a sweet, refreshing taste, perfect for fruit salads and smoothies or to eat by itself. Belonging to the same family as pumpkin, squash and cucumber, cantaloupe is an excellent source of beta-carotene and vitamin C. One small cantaloupe is only 150 calories. Wow - what a great snack!!
